Murphy’s law of transportation

When I really need a taxi, and not catching one will cause me to be late to an appointment, I will see three empty taxis as I walk from my apartment towards the street, but when I actually get to the street, every taxi that passes is full causing me to walk to the main street in hopes of catching one. I’m usually late.

When I really need to catch the minibus (sort of like a 12-passenger van, except that it is big enough for people to stand up), and not catching one will cause me to be late to an appointment, I will see one pass as I walk from my apartment towards the street and have to wait for 10-15 minutes for another one to come.
